Saw some great work performed at the gym tonight! The mood was really upbeat and contagious. Had all levels able to complete their assigned workouts from the beginner to the advanced; everyone got some!
Keep in mind: let's keep up the intensity while maintaining proper form. We're not form Nazi's because we like to be mean, it's to actually make your workout safer and to insure that you get the maximum out of your workout! Squating thru your heels, keeping the back straight while maintaining your lumbar curve; it makes a huge difference. It's easy to let fatigue destroy your form, I'm guilty of it at times. That why it's awesome to have all of the support of the other athletes to encourage and correct! The atmosphere is one of proper form and I appreciate the other more experienced CrossFitters like Katie, Sara, Dan, Drew, Sean and Shane all sharing their knowledge of the forms that are being taught at HIT CrossFit! You guys rock!
I'm experimenting with a new style of workout today. Its a nice mixture of strength and metcon (metabolic conditioning). Enjoy!
Back squat: 5/5/5, build up to a 5 rep max. Go heavy or go home!
Bench Press: 5/5/5, build up to a 5 rep max.
Take no more than 15 minutes to do all of the above exercises. Thats 2 1/2 minutes per set.
